A major environmental issue has been building during the past decade with the growing incidence of Colony Collapse Disorder. The decline in bees is a matter of serious concern for the pollination of plants, and therefore is a threat to the food chain for human and animal life alike.
The cause of this decline is much debated, and the conclusions so far are often a source of disagreement between environmentalists, scientists and corporations. However, in general terms the reasons are that the environments in which bees previously thrived are rapidly being altered. The key factors appear to be the increasing use of insecticides which are notably harmful to bees, a greater threat from certain parasites (e.g. varroa mite), the ingestion of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO), electromagnetic frequencies associated with cellular phones, and a general loss of habitat. Despite recent legislation in Europe to ban neonicotinoid pesticides there is little political will to solve this problem. Finally, while there is much public concern about the plight of the bees, how many would be willing to have their mobile phone networks switched off?
The best answer of all to this problem is than humankind shows a greater respect for nature, and the removal of toxic influences wherever possible. At World Development Systems (WDS) we sincerely hope this comes to pass. In the meantime, however, we need to find a more immediate solution. We would like to offer a device which at least helps to offset some of the harmful factors.
The Bee Healthy Device is a round disk approximately 140mmm diameter and 10mm thick which should be placed within the immediate vicinity of the hive. Three equi-spaced screw holes exist towards the outer edge of the disk to allow for a reliable screw fix. Using the principles of bio-resonance currently used in other products by WDS the Bee Healthy device creates an energetic field of approximately 1 metre diameter. This energetic field is specifically programmed to inhibit the growth of specific bee-hostile parasites, and also to try to strengthen the bees ability to withstand electromagnetic radiation and damage from insecticides. We are very realistic in our approach to this solution - the very best answer is not to have the environmental challenges to the bee communities in the first place. However, as long as the problem is there you can at least give your bees some support to endure - it has already been shown to help hives survive when others in the same location but without the disk have perished.
